Young Chemist’s Wintergreen oil is extracted from leaves of wintergreen through steam distillation. Wintergreen oil is used for severe conditions like headache, nerve pain, arthritis, and menstrual cramps. It can also be used for digestion problems like stomach aches. Most people use it in small doses of oil to improve stomach liquids and improve digestion. Sometimes, wintergreen oil can be applied directly to the skin as a wash for sore muscles, or lower back pain.
Wintergreen oil is applied to the skin as a counter-irritant to get relief from muscle pain. The counter-irritants present in oil work by reducing pain and swelling in the tissue. Also, wintergreen oil is used to kill germs present on the skin.
